This remote is bluetooth so it's very responsive when it's on and you don't have to point it at the PS3 for it to work.
If on the other hand you bought the remote for any other reason (for functionality or convenience for example) then it sucks and should be avoided. This is great if you are really fat and are trying to lose weight by sprinting to the console, turning on the control pad and pressing play or pause to stop the fast forward function. Do not buy this. When you press fast forward or rewind, it all works fine, but when it comes time to press play or pause the Playstation often does not respond to the button press.
I even use it to navigate the XMB, the Playstation Store, Youtube XL, etc.I've also become spoiled by the fact that, no matter how you hold it or how many obstacles are between the remote and the PS3, the signal always arrives. Now I'm annoyed every time my other remotes need to be pointed to the device they operate. Use only one hand instead of two. That's because it uses Bluetooth instead of those ancient infrared lamps. That's so XX century. That simple. With a dualshock3 you need both hands, while with this remote you need only one while the other one grabs the popcorn.
Otherwise, I love this thing. I only wish it had a plain old 'off/on' button instead of the PS button. .for this remote. Using the controllers was so annoying for playing movies, but this thing works great.
Great price at Amazon, and it shipped free with my other items. What can I say, it is the licensed remote by Sony for the PS3, and it works great.
